When a video has a native caption track (most YouTube videos do), we use that — perfect quality, no AI guessing, results in seconds. When there's no caption track (most TikToks), we transcribe with whisper-large-v3-turbo on our own infrastructure. Transcripts are cached so already-processed videos are free for everyone forever.

How accurate is the transcript?
HookFindr uses AI speech-to-text under the hood. Accuracy is high for clear English and most major languages. Heavy background music, multiple overlapping speakers, or extreme accents can reduce accuracy.
Can I download subtitles or .srt files?
Yes. After transcription you can download the result as plain text (.txt) or as a subtitle file (.srt) with timestamps for use in video editors and players.
Does HookFindr store my videos?
We do not store the original video file. Audio is fetched, transcribed, and discarded. Transcripts (text only) are cached so future requests for the same public video return instantly. See our Privacy page for details.
Does it work with private TikToks or paid YouTube videos?
No. HookFindr only transcribes publicly accessible videos. Private, members-only, age-gated, or paid content is not supported.
